The Northside of Jacksonville begins when you cross over the Dames Point Bridge. Just over the bridge on Blount Island is JAXPORT. This 754-acre commercial marine terminal is the largest vehicle import/export center on the east coast of the U.S. It is also home to the Carnival Cruise Line terminal. The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is located on the Northside at the mouth of the Trout River, with 110 acres, and over 2,000 animals. The zoo’s most popular attraction is the "Range of the Jaguar," exhibit, named for the hometown Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team.
